About

What is MeteoStone?

MeteoStone is an experimental project for people to collect and share meteorological data about weather all over the world. Everything on MeteoStone, all data and all content is provided by users.
You can use this site as

  • Source of actual weather data
  • Source of local user's information, such as comments, about weather
  • Source of information about weather disaster
  • Source of data for personal local weather forecasts
  • Landing service for communication about weather
  • Something else? May be dating service? :)

But, more serious, we are planning to make weather service, where people can work with weather information as well as communicate about it.

How does site works?

It's very simple.
We collect all local weather data and show it on the map. Almost every hour (or less) we analyse this data and make reports for all zoom levels of the map. So, your weather information will be shown on maximum zoom level immediately, but there is some delay before updating top level of map.
Some information about weather can not be provided by user's interface because it's hard to determine special data like pressure without hardware weather station. But, we are planning to release MeteoStone API for collecting data from such devices. If you develop software for weather stations and want to work with MeteoStone, just drop us a line.
